My senior design team and I developed an expandable transfer tool for wheelchair-bound users. During our first semester of senior design, I was responsible for many of our ethnographic efforts - visiting the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Support Group and talking to wheelchair-bound patients about what problems they face in their day to day life.

When we decided to tackle the issues SCI patients face transferring between locations, I was responsible for taking our minimum viable prototypes to the support group for real-time input during the design process. I was also responsible for carrying out numerous verification tests for our prototype using model systems in order to ensure our prototype would meet technical standards. Ultimately, we were able to apply for a provisional patent on our design and are patent pending.
