Key Course Projects

Research Endeavors

Heffner Biomedical Imaging Lab

As a student researcher in the Heffner Biomedical Imaging Lab, under the guidance of Dr. Jia Guo, I worked on improving the performance of a recursive refinement network to be used for diffeomorphic image registration tasks. I presented findings from literature reviews in lab meetings, designed a modified framework, and gained experience working with machine learning packages in Python such as Tensorflow and PyTorch. This is an ongoing research experience.

Neurotrauma Research Lab

In my spare time, I volunteered to assist graduate students in the Neurotrauma Research Lab with some of their ongoing research efforts. I worked with CMOS-MEA (Microelectrode Array) data in MATLAB to devise methods to identify neuronal spikes in electrophysiological data. I gained experience visualizing this data, working with structures in MATLAB, filtering, and other signal processing techniques. Additionally, I modified and streamlined other existing analysis tools in MATLAB to make data analysis and visualization more efficient. I volunteered in this lab from September 2021 to May 2022.
